"In September, The Reef salon and spa in Gabriels Hill, Maidstone, Kent, held a charity event to raise money for Cancer Research. The main attraction was men being waxed in the salon's window, where people gathered outside to watch them wincing and trembling. There was also face painting, sales of homemade cakes and a raffle. Despite rain keeping the town quieter than usual, The Reef raised £252.39 for its chosen cancer charity."
